Fixed Stars appear to be stationary relative to
the Earth. They do advance due to precession at a rate of less than
one minute per year, taking seventy-two years to move one degree
of arc.
Most modern astrologers use a tight orb of 1°,
with larger stars allowed a larger orb. For more information on

Wright's site. The fixed stars are said to "cast no rays".
Their aspects are said to be ineffective and their influence to
be exerted only by conjunction and parallel. Some astrologers also
believe they have a weight in oppoistions.
