The Nodes

The lunar nodes travel backwards at the rate of about 3 minutes a day. It takes 18 1/2 years for a lunar node return to occur.

The nodes are a point on the ecliptic that mark the intersection of the Moon's orbit around the Earth with the ecliptic, not planets. Hindu astrology uses the term Dragon's Head (caput draconis) for the North Node and Dragon's Tail (cauda draconis) for the South Node.

The Nodes tell about karma and by house placement tell where the karma lies. They tell us where we were and where we are suppose to be. Most charts show only the North Node, the South Node is always the exact polarity as the North Node. The sign tells the energy.

The north node (ascending) is this life's karma, the house with the north node is where we need to concentrate on.

The south node is past life karma. The south node (descending) is our "comfort zone". While we are supposed to concentrate on the area of the north node, many run to the south node house because it is easy, they have done it before the energy is familiar.
