Check out Scott Cunningham's book The Magickal Household,
for more ideas.
First select the Bottle you want to use. Your bottle
may be clear or tinted. If your working with a colored bottle, choose
a color that corresponds to your intent. Tinted bottles are great
for spells using color correspondences.
Wash your bottle with warm soapy water. Once the
bottle is washed you can rinse it again in the ocean or with seasalt
and water. (Even table salt will work in a pinch, salt is purifying)
If possible you should bathe it in the light of the full moon to
magickally cleanse it. When the bottle is clean there are a lot
of options for its contents. Choose from the list above. You don't
have to use everything listed. The primary ingredients are
1. Things that are sharp,
2. herbs, resins, stones, minerals for protection.
Mix the sea salt, orris-root powder, herbs and iron
in a bowl. Cut a piece of the parchment to fit inside your bottle.
Write on it using the black ink,
I (your name) neutralize the negative power of (name your adversary)
to do me any harm. I ask that this harm none and be for the good
of all. So mote it be.
Bind the parchment by rolling it up and tying it
with the black thread and place it in the bottle. Fill the bottle
with the dry ingredients and herbs you blended above and your sharp
objects. Then fill it with your own urine (this binds it to you,
some choose to use 3 drops of blood instead) Put the lid on the
bottle and take the white candle and, while turning the bottle counterclockwise,
drip wax over the cork or edge of the lid to seal it.
Wrap the bottle in black cloth and secretly bury
the bottle during a waning moon. You should choose a place where
it will not be disturbed and wont be dug up by an animal or person,
preferably at a crossroads. While burying the bottle recite:
Witches' bottle of herbs and charms,
banish evil and protect from harm.
With pins and needles and bits of glass,
destroy all evil towards me cast.
With herbs of ol' and powers divine,
with harm to none, all harm I bind.
Protect me from my enemies,
this be my will. So mote it be!
Do Not leave it on your premises or property.
It is important that the bottle not be broken. If
broken, the power of the spell is lost. If it is ever broken or
unearthed make a new one.
