Our Mission
When I started this site it was meant to be a graphics/webdesign
site.
I wanted a way to earn a living from home for my own reasons.
As time passed I learned to make pages, graphics, dabbled in javascript then
perl and
what ever else came along that I had a need to do.
Since I worked alone I had to learn to do what needed to be done.
I learned a lot, and that was not a waste, however the site still had no real
direction.
It was a wonderful learning ground, and reaffirmed to myself that I was capable
of doing
anything I wanted to learn if I put the time and effort required into it.
Due to a personal tragedy very close to home I stopped my
path of learning the craft a few years ago.
I vowed to put it all away for a year and a day, to allow me time to process
the experience
and look for any lessons that I was to learn from it. I looked for reasons
and signs
I had missed or misinterpreted, I looked for logic and a greater good as the
result. I found neither.
I lost faith in everything and everyone. Somehow in the process I lost who
I am.
I started the Spirit section as a subdomain, I honestly can't
even tell you why.
I suppose it was a way for me to try to find a semblance of order to life.
I still knew the things I had learned only the details had faded from lack
of use.
I found myself helping others just starting on the path. They are often overwhelmed
by all the fluff
and 'rules' and just needed to learn that having an herb the book says to
use is meaningless
if you don't understand the meanings behind how the herb was chosen and how
to substitute based
on intent and availability. Magick is in you not in the items from your list,
and not having an item in a book does not mean you can not work just as effective
magick with what you can get.
As I see it there is more honour to the 'Lord and Lady' and to nature itself
when you understand
why you are doing something. Nature is a wonderful thing and where ever you
are, there are things that tie to nature.
Some (like me) even believe that the things you can find locally are even
more powerful because,
1. You can gather the herbs yourself from the wild which puts you in direct
contact with nature.
2. Things in your own area are attuned with the energies there.
3. If you gather them yourself you can offer thanks to the plants themselves
that have given for your needs.
Your more likely to see that nature has a power of it's own and is wonderful
despite mankind's interference.
4. You are more likely to understand the reason a item such as an herb is
chosen if you do you can make a substitute.
This site consists of bits and pieces of information. It was
never meant to be a total resource.
The information contained herein is only a starting point for further study.
If a subject seems interesting to you, do some more research on it, there
are a lot of wonderful sites
on the web and many fine books on any subject that calls to you.
The correspondences are the "average accepted" however if your feelings
are different follow your own, I do.
Our mission is to provide a starting point. After all the power of Magick
is in each of you!
